Educational best practices show that frequent reading is key, but in rural classrooms, it may only happen once a week. You can foster a lifelong love of reading by covering costs such as 60 hours of teacher training in effective literacy instruction, two years of in-class coaching, a class set of storybooks and ongoing program evaluation. A plaque recognizing your generosity will hang in your sponsored classroom, you will receive a thank-you letter from the teacher you support, and a storybook written by students in your sponsored class.

Belice is located in the Yepocapa municipalty which sits at the foot of the "Volcán de Fuego". EODP Belice has very scarce books and teachers had no training on teaching reading.
