Padrino

As a Padrino, or godparent, you ensure that students without sponsors still receive a scholarship. You ensure their class’s progress is measured and the program will continue to grow and improve. This means covering costs such as scholarships for unsponsored students, research, program evaluation, and matching students and sponsors. You will receive regular updates and notes from your class, and a plaque recognizing your gift at CoEd’s Education Center.

This community is located in the Yepocapa municipality, with a population of 17,000. Most of the population is of Mayan Kaqchikel descent. The major crops are coffee and cotton. It's 2 hours from Guatemala City. Yepocapa joined the Rise Program in 2018.

The Yepocapa Middle School Class of 2026 has 23 Rise scholars.
