My name is Flory. I am fifteen years old, and I live in the municipality of San Martin Jilotepeque. I really like living in this community because the people are very kind, and it is a safe place to live. We are three siblings, and I am the oldest. My mother is named María, she is a housewife, and she prepares our food and takes care of all the housework. My father, Jorge, is a day laborer; he plants corn and beans, and what he earns is very little. My brothers are young, and they really like to judge soccer. Often times I help them with their homework.

In my free time, I help my mother with the housework, and I do my chores. Lately, we talked with my mother about my academic continuity since I dream of graduating and being an accountant, that is why I try very hard. My parents unfortunately cannot pay for my education because of the different expenses that we have at home. That is why when I found out about the scholarship through the director of my school, I was very excited because I want to be a professional woman. In my free time I knit napkins and help my mother make cakes, she teaches me things about the kitchen since she tells me that you have to learn from everything.
