My name is Brenda B., I was born on May 14, 2009. I feel very happy to be a teenager and, thank God, I am healthy. I live in the community of San Martín. It is a very beautiful place and is very close to the municipality. We are a family of 5 siblings and there are 2 younger than me who go to school. We live with my parents. My mother is called Maria, she is a housewife and is dedicated to taking care of us and preparing food for everyone. My father is called José, he is a day laborer and works outside the home, planting corn and beans. Unfortunately what he earns is very little and he cannot cover all the expenses.

The moments that we enjoy the most as a family are the weekends since we eat together and go to church. We like it because we talk with my siblings and we also listen to praises and my mother advises us to do things well. I also help my mother make cakes and sometimes I knit. I really want to continue studying, but I get sad because I see that the money is not enough. I dream of being an accountant and then going to university to give my family a better future and also be able to support my younger siblings. The scholarship for me will be the best gift since I will not have to worry about expenses and focus directly on my education and thus be able to achieve my goals.
