Biography
My name is Heidy, I was born in Quisaché Acatenango village on October 29, 2011. My siblings and I are currently studying and we put a lot of effort into our studies. I have a brother who currently studies and works as a tour guide driver. He goes to work very early and on weekends he studies, he works hard to get ahead. My dad, Julio, is a day laborer and works a lot, but there are days when he does not go because he struggles with his health. My mom, Ceyri, is a housewife and goes out to do some small jobs. Neither of them studied, but they want our future to be different. My big dream is to graduate as a nurse and to meet the needs of my father's health and support my family so that we are all very healthy and so that my community has other health benefits.
I really like reading, also playing soccer because it helps me clear my mind and also to share with my friends. In the morning, I study and have fun at my school with my friends. I also learn a lot at school, in the afternoons, I do my homework and support my mom at home so that she feels good. I help my little brother in his homework because my mom has a hard time. My greatest desire is to continue studying, but I do not know if my parents will give me the possibility due to finances. For that reason, the scholarship helps me with fulfilling my dreams of being a great nurse and then supporting my community when they need it.
