My name is Maria A., I was born in Magdalena Milpas Altas on August 29, 2011. I am the oldest sister, my little sister is studying elementary school. The house where we live belongs to my maternal grandparents, my aunt also lives in the house with my cousins. We occupy three rooms at the top. My dad is originally from San Antonio Aguas Calientes. My father's name is Erwin, he is a farmer and studied until seventh grade. He currently works as a gardener in the electricity company. My mom's name is Marta, she is a housewife and she is always taking care of us. She gets up early some days of the week to wash clothes in the communal sink which is very tiring. Even so she always accompanies us and does not leave us alone. We had a difficult situation, because my father was out of work for awhile due to the job market, and we went through hard times.
When I grow up, I want to graduate, improve my life, have a pastry shop, and learn many types of decorations. In my free time, I really like to play with my sister, I really like animals. I like going to school because I can spend time with my classmates and we play and learn together. My favorite class is social studies I am in a church children's choir. I like to sing and worship God that way. The scholarship supports me in my studies and helps my parents buy the materials and things they need to be able to study without any difficulty.
