My name is Saraí. I was born in Antigua Guatemala. I have a twin sister and two older sisters. The oldest is in high school and the second is in elementary school. It has been difficult for my father, as he is the sole provider for the household. My mother passed away six years ago. My parents were separated, and we lived with my mother. Unfortunately, she didn't give us a good life, and we were placed with my father. Since then, he has taken care of us since we were seven years old. My mother passed away three months after we moved in with him. My father's name is Ricardo; he is a carpenter, but he doesn't have a steady salary. We also live with my grandmother. Our house is far from the school. When we walk, it sometimes takes up to 40 minutes to get there. My father has made a great effort to get a motorcycle so he can take us all to school.

My dream is to be a doctor. I want to help people who suffer from illnesses and can't go to the doctor due to lack of money. I want to be able to support my community. I like participating in school activities. My favorite class is Communication and Language because it allows me to learn more about ways to communicate, write correctly, read, and acquire new skills. In the mornings, I attend classes with my sister, and in the afternoons, we help with housework. Afterward, we do our homework. I would like the scholarship so I can continue my studies, since it's becoming increasingly difficult for my father to support us financially. I want to graduate and achieve my goals.
