Biography
My name is Reyna. I'm from the community of La Merced, in the municipality of San Martín Jilotepeque. I was born on September 28, 2012.
My parents and my four siblings live at home. Two of my siblings had to start working and drop out of school due to a lack of financial resources. My younger siblings are still in elementary school. My father works as a day laborer and only completed second grade. Six months ago, he suffered from an accident. It was a very difficult situation for my family, as he had to remain hospitalized for a long time. During that time, my mother and siblings were responsible for covering the household expenses. My mother suffered greatly because of this situation. She is a housewife and only managed to complete third grade because she didn't have the necessary support to continue.
My mother dreams of me being able to study and excel in life, since my older siblings haven't had the opportunity to continue their studies due to a lack of financial resources. I also dream of continuing my studies and graduating as a certified accountant.
My favorite subject is Artistic Expression. I love drawing and painting. I also enjoy going to school. I work hard every day, turning in my homework and getting good grades. At home, I help my mother with chores and take care of the chickens. I know that only with the support of the scholarship will I be able to study, become a professional, and help my siblings so they can also continue their studies.
