My name is Celia, I'm from Saquitacaj. I attend my community school. I live at home with my parents and three of my siblings. I'm the eighth child in my family. I have nine siblings, five of whom no longer live with us because they have their own families. Six of my older siblings didn't finish their studies due to economic circumstances, some did, but they don't have a profession. My father's name is Rolando, he's a day laborer and finished third grade. My mother's name is Santa, she's a housewife, she doesn't go out to work outside the home due to health problems.

My dream is to be a music teacher because I love instruments. My favorite subject is math, because it goes hand in hand with numbers and the beats of each musical note, and I like it because I find calculations easy and I really like numbers, so I can do what I like and help my family. I didn't pass third grade due to COVID-19, because the whole family caught it.

I go to school every morning, and in the afternoons I help my mom with chores. I also do my homework. In my free time, I learn to knit clothes like napkins to sell. On Saturdays, I work at a tortilla shop with one of my sisters-in-law, earning extra money for school supplies. I want the scholarship because I want to continue studying and to provide financial support for my family.
