My name is Jazmín. I live in the community of Xejuyú, San Martín Jilotepeque. I was born on February 26, 2013, I am the oldest of three sisters.

I live with my mom and dad. My dad works outside the municipality, so I only see him on weekends or every two weeks, since he can't travel home every day due to the distance. Travel costs are high, so he tries to save. He managed to study in a variety of ways. My mom works as a secretary for a few hours in the morning. She receives a salary that supplements household expenses. She also managed to graduate, but unfortunately, she hasn't had many job opportunities where she could earn a better salary.

My parents believe through studying I will have better opportunities in the future and a better life. That's why they support me and motivate me to keep working hard in my studies. My favorite subject is math, because I like learning about numbers and solving problems. I enjoy going to school because I learn something new every day. When I get home, I take advantage of the time to do my homework, help my younger sisters with theirs, and collaborate with my mom with household chores. In my free time, I like to embroider napkins, draw, paint, and read. I want to continue studying so I can go to university and graduate as a lawyer, because I like solving problems and I want to have a good job to support my family.
