My name is Gladys. I was born in the village of La Cruz, San Pedro Yepocapa. I am the third of my siblings. I have four siblings. My older siblings dropped out of school due to lack of financial resources. So far, my parents are very supportive of my little sister and me, who are still in school. My father's name is Estuardo. He is a day laborer and works hard to support us in every way, although it is quite difficult for him because he doesn't earn enough to pay for our education. Even so, he does his best. My mother's name is María. She is a homemaker, but sometimes she also goes out to work to help us. She always tells us that whatever it takes, one appreciates more.

My greatest wish is to teach the children of my community to read and write. I would also like to work in a school in my community. That's why I want to be a teacher. I really enjoy participating in school activities and supporting my classmates. My favorite class is Artistic Expression because it allows us to act, express ourselves, and also create drawings. In the mornings I study, and in the afternoons I help my mom with the housework, because she always supports us. After helping her, I complete my homework to do well in school. I would love to get a scholarship to fulfill all my dreams and become a recognized person in my community. My greatest wish is to graduate and be able to support my parents.
