Biography
My name is Miriam. I was born in the village of La Cruz, Yepocapa, and I have three brothers and four sisters.
My older sister stopped continuing her studies due to lack of resources. My older brother is graduating as a mechanic, and although it has been difficult for him, thanks to a scholarship, he will be able to become a professional.
My father is a day laborer, and what he earns isn't enough to cover all the household expenses, so it's difficult for him to support us. My mother is a homemaker, but she also goes out to work when she can. She always says that contributing to the home, even if it's just a little, is satisfying.
My greatest wish is to be a teacher because I want to support my siblings and the children of my community. I'm inspired by my teacher's and my mother's patience in teaching us. I really enjoy talking and learning about different topics, which is why my favorite subject is Communication and Language, as it helps us learn new words and develop our communication skills.
In the mornings I study, and in the afternoons I help out around the house with chores, in addition to completing all my homework, because I really enjoy learning. I want to continue studying and graduate but my parents can't afford it. Although they'll support me as much as they can, that is why I want this scholarship.
