My name is Kevin. I was born in Quisaché, Acatenango. I have an older brother who is currently in high school and is working hard, but my mom finds it difficult to support us since she is a widow. My father passed away when I was one year old.

My mother, Auradilia, is a homemaker and also works for a teacher here in Quisaché. She works hard and does everything she can to provide us with an education and food. That's why I love her very much and support her in any way I can. We live in a room that my grandparents lent us. They love us, but they are already too old and it is also difficult for them to help us.

My dream is to be a mechanic because I see that many people need help with their vehicles, and in my community there is no one who can provide that service. That's why I want to prepare myself and fulfill this great dream.

I enjoy learning new things and going to school very much. My favorite subject is English because I am interested in learning about other countries and I like the language.

In the mornings, I study and have fun with my classmates at school. In the afternoons, I do my homework and help my mom with the housework, since she works and sometimes comes home late and tired. That's why I help her in any way I can. I want this scholarship because that way my mom would have fewer worries and feel more at ease at work.
