My name is Lesly. I was born in Santiago Sacatepéquez. I am the second oldest sister. My older sister only completed the first year of high school. She is already married and has a daughter. My sister has taken care of me while my mother works. My younger sister is 9. My father passed away a few years ago from an accident. My mother's name is Martha. She only completed the second grade. She works at a tortilla shop. My mother is the sole provider for our household. My family is going through a very difficult time because my mother may need an operation. In the mornings, I get ready for school. I love learning about the subjects my teachers teach. I have faced challenges in my studies, but I try my best. One of my favorite subjects is music. I love learning melodies, and one of my dreams is to play the guitar. In the future, I want to graduate as a nurse so I can help people who are ill. I want to have a job in my field and support my family financially. This scholarship will allow me to be able to continue my studies, and with the scholarship, I could keep going and graduate.
