My name is Flor, and I'm from Patzún, Chimaltenango. I was born on May 10, 2013. I currently study at a school in my community, and I really enjoy studying. I live with my mother, Flora. She works as a housekeeper and only completed the third grade. My father passed away from an illness. My mother takes on any job she can find to put food on the table. I have a brother who also contributes financially to the household. One of my biggest dreams is to continue studying and become a doctor so I can help people in need. This profession really appeals to me because I want to learn how to cure people of any illness. My favorite subject is math; I really like numbers, subtraction, division, and multiplication. At school, I enjoy participating in different activities, and when I do, I feel happy because I can show off my skills. I want to continue studying, and with this scholarship, I hope to achieve my goals and fulfill my mother's and my biggest dream. She always encourages me to keep going in life. This scholarship will allow me to continue my studies, since my mother can no longer afford them because we don't have enough money.
