My name is Meylin. I'm from Patzún, Chimaltenango. I was born on November 22, 2012. I'm currently studying at a school in my community. I live with my parents. My mother's name is Irma; she's a homemaker. My father's name is Rudy; he's a day laborer. He graduated, but he never worked in his field. Sometimes he finds work, and sometimes he doesn't. One of my biggest dreams and goals is to continue studying and graduate with a diploma in Mechanics. My favorite subject is Mayan Languages because it is apart of my culture and I like speaking my language. I like fixing cars; I'm very curious about how cars are built. In my free time, I really enjoy reading storybooks. At my school, I like to participate in the cultural afternoons. They organize various activities for us to participate in, and when I do, I feel happy because I get to show off my skills. I want to continue studying and with this scholarship I can achieve my goals, continue at university and graduate, fulfilling my parents' biggest dream; they always encourage me to keep going in life.
